Lugrithillirid’s Lair and the Dreamweaver’s Domaine

Highlights

Cast:
- Zanne, Caeldryn, Mikal (Deceased), Morgar, Elrohir, Kuu
Events:
- Zanne, Caeldryn, and Mikal blast from centuries in the past into the familiar sky over the Vast teeming with airships and griffon cavalry units moving in formations. They are able to evade the griffon unit that veers their direction by sending more life into the Bloodjammer cyrstal to increase its speed and escaping over the grand mountains into Vangelis. Something takes directional control of the ship and guides it past Aerie, into the thick jungle once again.
- The skiff deposits the three in a twisting tower of rediculous architecture where they find strange items in what must be the mind flayer’s bedroom. In the next room is a huge spinning orrery which Mikal nearly gets sucked through. Zanne pulls him out as he is about waist-deep in the warped liquid portal. They tumble down in a heap between the dangerously spinning arms of the orrery, and Mikal realizes that he has lost a lot of his coordination and agility. When a floating, beaked, tentacled, monster that seems to be the castellen of the tower enters the room, combat ensues and Mikal discovers that he has perhaps been mutated or otherwise powerfully, but uncontrollably transformed by the experience with what may have been the Far Realm of Xoriat.
- Elrohir, Morgar, Lorn, and Kuu join the others by heading through the obsidian glass far, far away, having just departed the Unicorn Fountain for the Colony, but hearing their friends cries of battle. Wreaking havoc in the docking room, they are able to destroy an enormous tentacled guardian, the beaked grick, and keep enough of the slaads occupied to make an escape through the obsidian glass mirrors spanning the walls. Kuu remains behind to wait for the a chance to challenge and hopefully slay the illithid, when he returns.
- The party makes it’s way to Rift, the Jungle Colony where all their friends are enjoying themselves, peaceful and free.
- All goes wrong, the Colony is a collective dream spun by a devious eladrin staging the sleepers for sale as slaves or sacrificial victims to the neighboring Yuan-ti. They heroes, led by Mikal, the unbeliever, rip themselves from the dream and escape all the fury the Weaver can raise within their minds. Seeking to kill, half the party follows the Weaver through a portal to who knows where…

Mikal: Concerning Rift

“Hey guys, maybe this whole thing isn’t what it seems and is really some sort of sinister alternate reality!”

“No, no, silly Mikal, everything’s totally ok. Oh look, we’re being visited by the precise gods who would have the most effect on us. How lucky!”

“But guys, something’s not right! Isn’t everything just a little too…perfect?”

“No, no, we just got really really lucky. I mean, sure, this is completely contrary to every bad thing that has happened to us over our unbelievably dangerous, harmful, and generally unlucky adventure but heck, I’m sure we just lucked out this time.”

“But they gave me a room with a telescope pointing directly towards the girls’ house. WITH CONVENIENTLY PLACED WINDOWS!!! This can’t be real!!”

“What? No, stop complaining and just give in to the clearly sinister intoxication that has duped all of us and our tiny brains.”

I told you!!
I told you!!
I told you!!
I told you!!
I told you!!
I told you!!
I told you!!
I told you!!

Seriously, its like you guys totally forgot that I’m the smartest and most awesome person here. I really don’t know why you always doubt me. Y’all are just lucky that I went crazy-go-nuts on the bad guys and saved your butts.

I might not always be there to clean up your messes you know…

Fake Empire
by The National

Stay out super late tonight
picking apples, making pies
put a little something in our lemonade and take it with us
we’re half-awake in a fake empire
we’re half-awake in a fake empire

Tiptoe through our shiny city
with our diamond slippers on
do our gay ballet on ice
bluebirds on our shoulders
we’re half-awake in a fake empire
we’re half-awake in a fake empire

Turn the light out say goodnight
no thinking for a little while
lets not try to figure out everything at once
It’s hard to keep track of you falling through the sky
we’re half-awake in a fake empire
we’re half-awake in a fake empire
